My girlfriend and I took a trip to the beach over the weekend. On Sunday morning, we were travelling from Beaufort, SC, to Savannah, GA - normally a 45-minute drive. Unfortunately, a certain tropical depression made a point to wash out i-95, causing traffic to back up over 35 miles and some people to wait in gridlock for 12+ hours. We were some of the lucky ones, as we only spent two hours on the freeway (over the course of 1.5 miles) before being forced onto the exit for a crazy-long detour through back roads for another 2+ hours. I have a bit of dashcam video to upload later, but for now, feel free to ask any questions you have about this ordeal. It was way under-reported on the news, thanks in part to Texas scheduling its floods at the same time, that attention-hog.

I spent most of the time convincing my girlfriend that we were still going to have plenty of time to do stuff. It was quite annoying, honestly.
